Orthopedic Care Helps You Regain Mobility
Arthritis is a common problem that affects many people as they age, and for most patients it is a condition with only mild symptoms. Unfortunately for some people, arthritic joints can cause disability and severe pain.
The caring, expert teams working with Steven Sanders, M.D. at orthopedic clinics in Trophy Club and Irving, offer a variety of solutions to assist patients suffering from arthritis. Our staff utilizes the latest in imaging technology to identify key areas that are causing your arthritis, and we then work with our patients to relieve their symptoms and pain. Plus, you can be sure you’re in good hands, because Dr. Sanders is fellowship trained in joint reconstruction.
It’s also important to note that there are over 100 different types of arthritis, so we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Your arthritis is unique to your health and lifestyle, and we always take that into account.
Arthritis doesn’t have to slow you down or affect your quality of life—let us show you how we can make a difference by targeting your specific symptoms and addressing your unique concerns.
What Causes Arthritis?
Arthritic joints can be caused by a number of factors, including autoimmune diseases and trauma. Essentially, arthritis involves the breakdown of supportive cartilage that allows for fluid movements. Once cartilage has broken down to a certain point, the body’s joints begin to rub against each other, leading to pain, stiffness, and inflammation. In some cases, arthritic conditions can also be aggravated by diseases, ultimately turning into rheumatoid arthritis. In these cases, you may need to be referred to a rheumatologist for further treatment options, as rheumatoid arthritis involves the immune system.
